How can I politely tell my neighbour I do not want to lend her my stuff?
I made the mistake of lending her a few items when she first moved in. Now she is knocking 3 or 4 times a day to borrow stuff. Washing up liquid, washing powder, dustpan and brush, a broom, milk, sugar, bread, my phone, the internet, even as small as a pen. I don't want to cause problems with her as if things where to get ugly I still have to live here, but how can I let her know I'm sick and tired of her knocking? Most days I ignore the door, but she now waits for me to either leave my house or when I am getting in. And she uses excuses like my daughter is sick and I really need to ring a doctor can I borrow your phone? The last excuse I had was my mum has just told me my grandma is dying I really need to speak with her. Can I borrow your phone? Which I was actually using it at the time and she then proceeded to say "I'll be 2 minutes and then you can ring whoever back I really need to talk to her" I just told her no. I have incoming calls only. Sorry. Just today I told her my hoover is broke and I am using a friends one for a few days as I don't want her using mine. I really am sick and tired of it and to the point where I dread leaving or coming home because it is like she is waiting at her front door to pounce. What's the best way to tell her to leave me alone without causing problems?
