Am I supppose to "press" tofu before I freeze it?

Does it make any difference if I press the water out of my tofu before I freeze it? Or am I suppose to freeze it right out of the package? I like to freeze my tofu to change the texture, because my kiddos don't like that smushy tofu texture. Though I never really understood exactly how to do it, press before freezing or after thawing?
